This was important many years ago...
Equitana 1985
Glendalough Grey (Glandy) on the Equitana trade fair, at the Society’s stand. Next to 4 other ponies, which took place in the show number, two young stallions also presented themselves at the stand. The picture of 6 grey ponies was very impressive.
What a lot of people do not know: the society was actually able to pay for a stand at the Equitana, to present the breed. A lot of years some very active members presented the race and manned the society stand.
A full winter some people trained very hard in Taunus. The show number was rehearsed by Irmgard Wieczorek, who was a horse and circus woman par excellence, working for many years at the circus Althoff.
The four legged members were Alaska (by Fort Curran) and Gauner (by Golden Dan), in the front on the right and on the left, as well as the stallion Tulira Nimble Dick and Glendalough Grey (by Ginster), in the back on the right and on the left. At the very beginning the dun mare Moon was in the place of Nimble’s.
The two legged members were (in the same order as the ponies) Annette Korbanka, Ursula Hillnhütter (in the beginning Ina Neubronner as replacement), Sabine Bachmall, Sybille Hein and as “circus director” Susanne Hillnhütter. Peter Buschmann and Irmgard Wieczorek acted as disruptive clowns in this number.
The show number was presented a number of times in Schönbach at the special show, after the Equitana had taken place.
Special commitment at the Equitana was shown by Mr. Kwade from Nordhorn, who organised the stand. Peter Diastuk from Essen was also a big help and always in the right place, as well as manager at the time, Mr. Hillnhütter.
Here are a few pictures of the Equitana 1985 and the training for it!

The quality of the pictures are not the best, but we are happy that we do actually have a few pictures left.
